What is "Iridescence" ?
The word "iridescence" refers to the seven-color playful effect caused by the interference of light.
The word "iridescence" is said to originate from "Iris," the Greek goddess of the rainbow that connects heaven and earth.
Acrylic Color [Iridescence] is an acrylic resin paint that changes color depending on the angle of view. They can be diluted with water and become water-resistant when dry.
Chroma Shine® are highly opaque metallic colors that are not easily affected by the underlying color.
Chroma Pearl are highly transparent and create a shimmering, color-changing effect while bringing out the underlying color.

Difference between ChromaShine® and ChromaPearl

The 70-color Holbein professional pigment series also includes the same 10 polarizing pigments as Acryllic Colors [Iridescence]. The professional pigments can be mixed with other color spreaders such as gum arabic medium, dry oil, and acrylic medium to create a variety of homemade paints.

This is created by silkscreen using acrylic paint, and crystal varnish is applied to the surface for the mirror finishing. This artwork made use of the polarizing effect of [Iridescence] by which color tones change when viewed from different angles in order to express changing time in your imagination. I like the color of chromapearl red because it looks like the changing dusk sky. [Iridescence] enabled me to broaden the scope of expression and concept for my artwork.

The "Northern Lights Series," inspired by the flowing form of the Northern Lights, is made by aluminum casting (the base is cast in bronze) from a resin prototype.
After the fabric was cleaned, primer and other primer treatments were applied to the surface, then airbrushed with acrylic paint gradations and additions, sprayed with [Iridescence] Chroma Pearl Yellow, and finished with a gloss burnish to protect the surface.
Iridescence is the best paint for expressing the mysterious brilliance of the Northern Lights.

[Iridescence] gives another gorgeous feeling that is different from traditional metallic color paints and pearl paints, and looks also great even when used for highlights. It is not only beautiful as acrylic paint when it is applied thickly but also has presence when used on watercolor paint. The gradation produced by using multiple opaque Chromashine® colors is also otherworldly and beautiful. The colors produced by mixing transparent chromapearl paints appear to shine white, which is also beautiful and fun to look at.

It is nice in terms of color saturation and glossiness, so I often use it for highlighting hair and eyes. It sparkles when held up to the light, which makes you enjoy the beauty unique to original painting. I feel it is pleasant to produce glitter paints by mixing Iridescence with other paints.
